The Director General, Mr. Mu’taz Ibrahim Barbour, participated in March 2021 in the seventh virtual meeting hosted by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) on “The Impacts of Covid-19 on Financial Stability, Banking Supervision and Credit Information in the Arab Region.
The first session of the meeting tackled the topic of “Implications of the Corona Pandemic on the Fundamentals of Financial Stability: Policies in the Short and Medium Terms and Preparation for the Recovery Phase”. There were presentations by Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), Financial Stability Board (FSB), and the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI).
The second session focused on “The Developments of Issues Related to Financial Stability in Both Normal and Economic Recovery Periods” with presentations by Bank of England, Bank of Canada, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
